The Hart County Recreation Department (HCRD) strives to provide the citizens of Hart County with a wholesome, quality program of leisure activities and facilities for the enjoyment of all segments of the population and to continue to plan future programs and develop facilities to enhance the quality of life in Hart County.
What's at the Park?
The Hart County
Recreation Department consists of 12+ acres of park facilities. Park facilities are open to the public and also available for rental for certain functions: contact HCRD for more information. Facilities include:
• Four Ball Fields
• One multipurpose field
• Two large picnic shelters with attached playgrounds
• Three sets of tennis courts
• Two outdoor basketball goals
• Outdoor batting cages

HYDRA (Hart Youth Development Resources Association):
HYDRA is located in the Teen Center adjacent to the Recreation Department's main building. HYDRA offers a variety of programs for middle and high school students, including after-school and summer camp, Baby Think it Over, Tutoring and Mentoring programs. The Boy Scout Hut
is located in the Park. They meet Monday evenings at 6:30, for

Tennis Courts: : HCRD maintains three (3) sets of double courts. Courts were reconstructed and resurfaced in Spring 2006. The Hartwell Tennis Club meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays @ 8:30 AM for group play. Public hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Weekdays. Contact the Recreation Office @ 706-376-8528

Square Dance Classes
“Swinging Harts” classes are held every Thursday night

Basketball
Registration sign-ups are November 1-20. The League starts the
first Saturday in January. The league is for ages 7 through 12(playing age prior to Jaunary 1). Starter programs may be available for ages 5-6. Contact the Recreation
Office @ 706-376-8528 for more information. Registration fee and copy of birth certificate required at sign-up.

Cheerleading

Adult Softball
Spring League consists of Co-ed League and Men’s Open League.
Registration begins February 1. Fall League consists of Women’s League and Church League. Registration begins July 1. Contact

Little League (youth baseball/softball)
Hart County Little League is a non-profit organization that operates the youth baseball and softball program in Hart County. The Recreati Department partners with Little League to use County Ball fields for Little League to use County ball fields for Little Leagus's programs. Little League's sign-ups start late January.
